【摘要】:Thistestmethodprovidesanindicationofthecapabilityofthevacuumcleanertoremoveembeddeddirtfromcarpeting.Thistestmethodisbaseduponresultsofhomecleaningtestssothat,inmostcases,areasonablecorrelationexistsbetweenhomeandlaboratoryresults.Theamountofdirtpickedupinthelaboratorytestmaynotbethesameasinthehome;however,itwillshowthat,inmostcases,avacuumcleanerthatperformswellinthelaboratorywillperformwellinahome.Laboratoryresultsmaydifferduetovariationsinthehomes,carpets,dirt,andotherfactors(seeSection6).Inordertoprovideauniformbasisformeasuringtheperformancedescribedin1.1,standardizedtestcarpetsandastandardizedtestdirtareemployedinthisprocedure.1.1Thistestmethodcoversonlyalaboratorytestfordeterminingtherelativecarpetdirtremovaleffectivenessofhousehold/commercialvacuumcleanerswhentestedunderspecifiedconditions.1.2Thistestmethodisapplicabletohousehold/commercialtypesofupright,canister,andcombinationcleaners.1.3Thetestmethodappliestoembeddeddirtremovalfromcarpets,nottheremovalofsurfacelitteranddebris.1.4Thevaluesstatedininch-poundunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.ThevaluesgiveninparenthesesaremathematicalconversionstoSIunitsthatareprovidedforinformationonlyandarenotconsideredstandard.1.5Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
